dc.description.abstract | This thesis derives the Airy stress function for a three phase plate that consists of two concentric circular inclusions and a matrix phase. It incorporates the elastic property of each phase as well as the geometry of the inclusions. An Airy stress function has been derived that satisfies the continuity conditions of the displacement and traction across the phase interface precisely. The obtained results are new and could not have been possible without a computer algebra system (Mathematica). | en_US |
