This research synthesizes research from the strategy, organization theory and operations management streams in exploring the competitive implications of firms' capacity over time. Data from archival sources are analyzed via Hierarchical Linear Modeling in exploring: 1) systematic relationships between capacity and financial performance that they obtain over time; and 2) the role of strategic and environmental covariates in these relationships.en_US
