The UTA CARES Grant Program, sponsored by UTA Libraries, was established in 2017 to support open education. In 2019, UTA Libraries awarded a UTA CARES Adoption Stipend to Dr. Bonnie Boardman, Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at UTA. The project proposal submitted by Dr. Boardman states: "I would like to create an OER Pressbooks "text" for IE 1205, Introduction to Industrial Engineering. The first step would be to turn an existing open license pdf into a Pressbooks, interactive text."
