Ling Xu, Ph.D.
Ling Xu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington in the School of Social Work. She is a health social scientist specializing in aging, family, and health. Her areas of research interests include family gerontology, intergenerational relations, dementia caregiving, cross culture research, and health outcomes in later life. Her research agenda is to investigate how social environmental change, cultural differences, social capital, and social exclusion affect the family dynamics as well as the physical and psychological well-being of older population. She is currently researching the effects of acculturation on intergenerational support, health disparities, and inequality in healthcare access among older adult in immigrant families.
