The Texas Mass Transportation Act, Article 4413 (34) V.A.T.S., directs
the Texas Mass Transportation Commission to develop and continuously maintain
a comprehensive master plan for public mass transportation development
in the State of Texas. This report was prepared and is submitted in accordance
with that mandate.
In order to maintain a report that accurately reflects the proposed
transit developments in Texas, the Texas Transit Development Plan will be
reviewed annually to evaluate the current validity of assumptions, projections
and recommended transit improvements. A reevaluation of the
underlying assumptions and projections will be made as warranted by
changing conditions or at five-year intervals.
The information contained within the report reflects the current status
of transit and intercity passenger transportation in the State and the
transit improvements planned to provide an alternate form of mobility for
the citizens of the State.
